I have a problem in a large part of my lawn with lumps of dirt pushing up through the sod. It may be earth worms or maybe voles? Need to identify problem and correct it.

Voles will tunnel and you'll see small raised tunnels; earthworms usually have a very small exit hole or small mounds of earth but they don't tunnel. Beetles can make exit holes with some mounds of soil surrounding them. You'll need to dig around to determine what's below the soil before we can suggest controls. You can roll your lawn to even it out. Most equipment rental stores have lawn rollers that you can rent and fill with water to roll over your turf to even it out.
