When is the best time in my region (zip code 66043) to put down seed in the Spring to renew bare patches of lawn?

If you wait until your existing lawn starts greening up, you'll know the soil and air temperatures are just right. If you sow the seeds when it's still cold, they will sit patiently and wait for temperatures of at least 40F, but they will germinate and establish a lot more quickly when the temperatures are 70F. Be sure to rake the bare patches before broadcasting your seeds so they will make good contact with the soil. Best wishes with your lawn.
