|Sandy soil drains really quickly but it doesn't hold nutrients and you'll need to water more frequently unless you amend your soil with compost or aged manure. Spread 3-4 inches of compost or other organic matter over the top of the soil and dig it in to a depth of 8-10 inches. The organic matter will help the soil hold moisture and nutrients. Enjoy your garden!
