I just finished planing Palmetto St. Augustine Plugs in my Front Yard. Im worried about crabgrass and other weeds coming in now since the soil is tilled. Is it safe now to put a premergent crabgrass fertilizer down now, or should I wait until the plugs are established

It will be safer for your new plugs if you wait a few weeks for them to establish before applying your pre emergent. Crabgrass starts germinating when soil temperatures are 50 to 55 degrees F for ten or more days and germination can take place over a 6 week period. Waiting a few weeks for your plugs to establish will still give the pre emergent plenty of time to work.
