You won't need to dress the wounds. In fact, using the tar-like wound dressing you can purchase at the store isn't recommended. It can actually slow the healing process by clogging everything up. When you prune a branch the tree will naturally seal off the injury and eventually bark will grow over the cut. Painting with a wound dressing can get in the way of the healing process. I'd just leave the limbs and branches alone. They will heal on their own.
