mud crabs or crayfish - Knowledgebase Question

There is a cattail swamp approx.1000 yards from my lawn. Mud crabs are beginning to do great damage to my lawn. How do i get rid of them

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there are no fumigants or general-use
pesticides registered for mud crab/crayfish control, primarily because of the potential non-target damage to water quality. However, according to Penn State University, boiling water can be poured into the burrows in yards to reduce their activity. Hope this information helps!
