Your lawn should be fed on a regular schedule throughout the growing season. Use a 3-1-2 ratio of NPK such as a 21-7-14 or similar and apply in April, June, September and late November according to package directions. I find that just the right fertilizers are usually on sale at the correct application times so check the ads. A well fed lawn will be lush and thick enough to crowd out weeds. Best wishes with your lawn!
