The red Florida buckeye, Aesculus pavia, shade tree grows fast and flowers are brilliant red in late spring, or fruitless Mulberry or the Catalpa tree will all work well in your area. The orchid tree (Bauhinia) makes a nice shade tree; another fast growing shade tree is Dahlbergia. The flowers are small but attract butterflies and the tree grows fast. American Ash does grow fast but it has major problems with ash tree borers so I'd avoid it. Hope one of these other trees is just right for your landscape.
