Both roses and grapevines should be pruned in the early spring, before new growth begins. If your grapevines have already started to leaf out you can still prune them back but expect the pruning cuts to drip sap for a few days. This won't harm your plant but it can be a little messy. Best wishes with your grapevines and your roses.
