I have a Mexican heather plant doing very well in my garden. Can I dig it up and bring it in over the winter and replant outdoors next spring?

Your Mexican heather (Cuphea hyssopifolia) needs about four hours of direct sunshine per day, moist soil, and temperatures between 50F and 70F degrees. You might try to bring it indoors, but it will probably be happier under greenhouse conditions where it's kept reasonably warm and bathed with bright light. (These conditions are difficult to duplicate in average households.) The plant is usually considered an annual in all except Southwest gardens, so regardless of how you treat it, you may have to replace it next spring. Good luck with your project!
