My dahlia bulbs had shoots on them when I bought them. Do I bury the shoot or plant them at a more shallow depth so that the shoot is above ground?

If your dahlia tubers have already sprouted it means they are anxious to grow! Go ahead and plant them according to the package directions, burying the sprouts (usually the tubers should be planted about 6" deep). The sprouts will continue to elongate and will grow above the soil surface in a few weeks.
