You are in gardening zone 8B which is warm enough in the winter months to grow sub-tropical plants such as ginger, hardy banana, hibiscus and bird of paradise. There are lots of other tropical looking plants you can include in your garden. To be on the safe side, choose those that list hardiness to zone 8 on their tags. Enjoy your garden!
