|I just planted (probably shouldn't have) some new shrubs in front of my house. I know there will be frost coming, how can I protect them without spending a lot of money?

|Draping them with old sheets or blankets overnight should offer protection. There are garden insulating blankets available at garden centers which will serve the same purpose. The key is to cover them overnight and then remove the covers in the morning before the sun comes barreling down on the plants. Leaving the protective covering on the plant in the sunlight can actually bake the plants.
