I would like to know if I can get seeds for pie pumpkins anywhere. We used to buy them in the grocery store in Georgia and Michigan, but I have not seen them in California. Do you carry seeds for pie pumpkins, or know where I can get them?

The classification 'pie pumpkin' (Cucurbita pepo) are those pumpkins that grow to less than 10 pounds at maturity. They're sometimes called sugar pumpkins because of their sweet taste. Anything over that size is usually considered a 'field pumpkin'. Try the varieties 'Bushkin' (available from Burpee; order online at http://www.burpee.com, or phone toll-free (800) 888-1447), or 'Small Sugar', available from Territorial Seed Company, P. O. Box 157, Cottage Grove, OR 97424-0061.
