I WOULD LIKE TO PROTECT MY AIR CONDITION UNIT FROM THE HOT SUMMER HEAT.I WOULD LIKE TO PLANT 2 OR 3 PRETTY SHRUBS OF FLOWERS IN FRONT OF IT THAT CAN HANDLER DIRECT SUNLIGHT. I WANT SOMETHING THAT LOOKS SHARP, PRETTY AND COLORFUL NOT WIDE AND MESSY.DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS.

I'd choose dwarf shrubs - they generally remain under 4' tall. Dwarf nandina (heavenly bamboo), Dwarf pittosporum (Pittosporum tobira wheeleri), Bridal wreath spirea (Spirea cantoniensis), or China rose (Rosa chinensis). Rosemary is another evergreen suggestion. Best wishes with your new shrubs.
