|Hi! I have a question..I wanted to use the numerous Oak leaves in my yard as mulch for the planters and beds. However, I'm not sure I'd be doing it properly.I was going to lay down newspaper, then put a few inches of shredded leaves as mulch. Is this okay? It seems such a wast not to use what I have but I want to do it right! Thanks

|Shredded oak leaves make great mulch so go ahead and use them in your garden beds and around your trees and shrubs. Laying newspapers down first and covering them with oak leaves will add a little extra insurance against weed popping up beneath the mulch material. Best wishes with your landscape!
