|I want to plant an olive tree in our yard. We live in the Seattle area. What's the best kind of olive tree to plant in this region. How much space do they need? Should I be cautious about it at all? Special instructions, etc.?

|Kalamata olive trees can grow in Bothell - I've seen them in Seattle so you should be able to grow one, too. But they don't usually produce ripe fruit so it will be strictly an ornamental tree. Kalamata needs full sunshine, well draining soil and will grow about 7 feet tall and 6' wide at maturity. Good luck with your new tree!
