I started a fruit & vegetable garden as well as misc. plants. I'd like to put mulch down & want to know which is best. My neighbor said the best one to use is cedar to keep termites away but I haven't been able to find it. I bought Red Mulch & want to know if that's ok to use. Thank you.

You can use any mulch material you want. Organic mulches (redwood, cedar, cypress, etc.) do not repel termites but they are valuable in that they decompose over time and as they do they release nutrients into the soil. Your red mulch is probably redwood and is fine to use in your garden.
