how do i know how my corn cernals ive planted are still alive and will grow

Corn will germinate as soon as 3 days, but generally within 7 if the ground temp is over 50 degrees and the seeds have had enough moisture to absorb 30% of their weight. The only way to really tell how the corn is doing is to dig one up and check it's progress.
