The best time to prune is immediately after you've harvested the fruit. Since your tree is flowering now, you'll prune off the fruit if you prune now. Wait until the fruit begins to develop and do a little pruning on the branches that do not have fruit. Then, right after you pick the fruit, prune your tree back. Best wishes with your grapefruit tree!
