Mulching steep hill. - Knowledgebase Question

I have 30' x 30' pretty steep hill on my backyard, I have 3 pine trees on it and very low plants with needles (2'-3'lx2''h) 2-4 feet from each other. What type mulch would be better stay on the steep hill like mine, plus I have a dog and kids who likes to climb an walk there.

I've had really good luck with shredded bark on a similar part of my landscape. It knits together and is not easily kicked up by foot traffic. Pine, Cedar or Cypress will all work equally well.
