|The active ingredient in Casoron is Dichlobenil. The product is a pre-emergent herbicide designed to keep weed seeds from germinating. The effect of this material on non-woody plants is that it inhibits the growth of roots and shoots. You'll find a list of plants on the back of the product label that it's safe to use around. If you don't find your plants listed on the label, you shouldn't use the product around them.
