Your new pear tree is a Bartlett pear. Bartlett will usually set fruit without cross pollination. While it is considered self-fruitful, it will develop more fruit if a second, different variety is nearby. To be a pollinator, the blossoms must be open at the same time and the pollen must be compatible. You can use any other variety of pear except Seckel to ensure good fruit set on all of your pear trees.
