|Lavender does not make a good houseplant. It needs full sunshine and well draining soils in order to thrive. Indoor environments are not good places. If you want to grow lavender indoors I'm afraid the plant will be doomed from the very beginning. You can grow them outdoors, though. Find a sunny spot and plant English Lavender, Lavandula angustifolia is the most commonly grown hardy lavender in our area. Synonyms for this species are: L. vera, L. latifola, L. officinalis, L. spica, and L. delphinensis. There are many flower colors from which to choose.
Any flowering houseplant will need bright light in order to bloom and grow well. If you're not having success with them, you'll need to invest in some supplemental lighting to promote flowering. Best wishes with your indoor garden!
