Over the winter our christmas type of tree was destroyed.. We cut it down and dug out the roots.. They were long and thick.. In its place I would like to put a jupiter moon spiral tree.. The planting spot is 2 to 3 feet away from the house.. Will it damage my home?
Can I plan this tree? Or what other trees or scrubs you suggest?

For such a narrow planting spot you'll want tall and narrow evergreens like pyramidal Arborvitaes and Hetz Junipers to add height and drama to your landscape. Anything wider than these can cause problems with their roots since your foundation is so close. Good luck with your new shrub.
