|The cherrytone landscape timbers are either fir or pine, treated with a a compound to help preserve them. They last about 8 years when they make soil contact and much longer when they are high and dry. If you want something a little more permanent, go with cedar or redwood (average life expectancy is about 15 years) or use landscape bricks or blocks. Best wishes with your project.
