my small brocolli plant all of a sudden sprouted stems with flowers from the small head. What should I do?

Your broccoli bolted - probably due to warm weather. Once it develops flowers, it is inedible. I'd pull it out and plant some warm season veggies. You can plant broccoli again in September or October and it will mature in late November or early December. Broccoli loves cool temperatures so in your gardening region you can plant it in late January or early February and harvest it in early April before the weather gets too warm.
