It can be hard to judge when carrots are ready to harvest. Usually The tops of the carrots will show at the soil line and you can gage when the diameter looks right for your variety. If the diameter looks good, chances are the length is fine too. But you will need to pull one to be certain. If you can't see the shoulders of the carrot at soil level, carefully brush away the soil until you can see the top where the foliage is attached. If it still looks too small to harvest, just replace the soil you brushed away and allow them to grow for a few more weeks.
