I planted this perennial last fall and it was beautiful. Since I live in the NE during the winter it turned brown (wheat color). I have been feeding and watering. Will it come back to life? Should I trim it back? Janet

Purple fountain grass is a perennial in warm winter climates but won't survive your winter weather. You should consider it an annual and plan on removing the old plant and replacing it each spring. Enjoy your garden!
