|I would like to plant a vegetable garden in soil that has been covered with black dyed mulch for 6 years (new mulch ever 2 years). Does the dyed mulch release toxins into the soil, or is it safe to plant vegetables here? Thank you.

|According the the manufacturer, dyed mulch is dyed with a water based colorant that is formulated to be non-toxic to animals and plants. Not much research has been done so I can't say for certain that there are no residuals in the soil but I suspect there are not or other plants would have difficulty growing in the soil. Wish I could offer more information.
