A friend told me to bury banana peels around the base of my rose bushes and they would be beautiful! Any truth to this tidbit? |
Banana peels are high in potassium, one of the three major nutrients (the other two being nitrogen and phosphorus) that all plants need in fairly large and regular quantities. Some gardeners like to bury banana peels off to the side of plants. In addition to potassium, they add organic matter to the soil as they decompose. I prefer to add them to the compost pile instead! |
