Hardy fuchsias can get leggy unless they are pruned to encourage new growth. You can cut them back by one third each spring and you can shorten or remove some of the oldest stems by cutting them back to ground level. This will prompt new stems and lots of new leaves and flowers. Now's the time to prune your fuchsia back.
