All Plums need cross-pollination for fruit set. Even plums that are considered self-pollinating will bear larger and more consistent fruit crops with a pollinator. In order for your Bruce to develop a crop you'll need to plant another plum tree. Allred, Santa Rosa and Methley are good choices for your gardening region.
