|Use regular potting soil to fill the new pot. Gardenias like soils that are acidic and potting soil has just enough peat moss to make it slightly acidic. Moisten the potting soil before filling the pot and plant your gardenia at the same soil level as it was growing in the nursery pot. Water it well after planting to help settle the soil. Enjoy your new gardenia!
