what is best soil to use in the topsy turvy for vegetable,ie: tomatoes-cukes. Last year plants were spindly and yellowed-we watered rgularly and have in open sun area. Thanks |
Use a good grade of potting soil for your topsy turvy containers. It hold moisture well and will provide some nutrients to the roots of your plants. Because containerized plants need to be watered more frequently, and because frequent watering will leach nutrients from the soil, try feeding every 2 weeks with a half strength dilution of Miracle Gro or other water soluable fertilizer. This will provide a constant source of nutrients to your plants and help keep them green. Best wishes with your tomatoes and cucumbers. |
