I planted a newly purchased potted hydranga from Home Depot. The flowers died, and the leaves look silvery. Do I cut the thing down, dead head the flowers, or what? Will it grow back next year? Thank you, S.Rector I live in Penna.

Yes, cut the flowers and some of their stems down now that the flowers have faded. Plants in containers need to be watered more frequently than the same plants in the ground so check your plant daily. If the soil is dry 1/2 inch below the surface, water throughly. Hydrangeas are perennial plants and yours should come back year after year.
