When the flowers are spent, cut off the flower stem but leave the foliage alone. It will die down and when that happens, cut it off at soil level. Unpot the tulips, brush off the soil and store the bulbs in a cool, dry, airy place for the summer. In the fall you can plant them in your garden and next spring they should sprout and flower for you. Best wishes with your tulips.
