I have recently moved and want to dig up my butterfly bush that was given to me when my dad passed away. Will it transplant well and can it be done now? Any tips?

Butterfly bushes transplant easily You can move your butterfly bush now or wait until next fall. I find it easier to move them when they are dormant (after a heavy frost) but if you need to move it now, go ahead. The growth will stop for a few weeks but once the roots re-establish themselves, it will make up for lost time. You can prune it back prior to moving. Be sure to water it well after the move to help settle the soil. Best wishes with your butterfly bush.
