Blueberries aren't really suited to growing in the Phoenix area but with a little extra care you might get a crop. Our soils are alkaline here and it's nearly impossible to make them acidic enough for blueberries so plan on planting yours in containers filled with potting soil and peat moss. This will supply the acidity they need. Plus, it will allow you to move the plants according to the seasons. They flower and produce fruits better if they have lots of sunshine but summer sun can kill the plants. So, from November through March they can sit in full sunshine but from April through November they should have morning sun but shade from the hot afternoon sun. Southmoon, Blueray, Misty, Sunshine Blue, Legacy, O'Neal, and Sharpblue. Would all probably do well in your garden. Choose two different varieties for good cross pollination. Best wishes with your blueberries.
