Flowering shrubs - Knowledgebase Question

I am looking for a flowering shrub that grows about 3' to 4' tall. Last night I saw one in near dark light standing propminent between other flowering shrubs, but this one was dark blue to maybe purple in color. I know it wasn't a rhododendrun (sp). Could you help with a location to find them?
Thanks

Bert

A picture would really help! Without one, I'm only guessing. This time of year Caryopteris Mastacanthus (Blue Spirea) and Hydrangea serrata "Tsurugi no Mai" are in bloom. Why not take a photo of the plant - a close up of the flowers - and post it online then send us a link to the photo. I'm sure we can identify the plant for you.
