Basil and Parsley - Knowledgebase Question

I want to plant these herbs on my patio, what kind of planter should i use, what kind of dirt and when can i start cooking with them.

As soon as the weather is consistently warm you can plant those tender herbs outoodrs. Use at least a 6" container with drainage holes in the bottom for each plant and fill them with moistened potting soil. You can harvest as soon as the stems of the basil are 5-6 inches long and the parsley foliage is about 6" tall. The more you cut, the more your herbs will produce. Enjoy!
