|My flower bed was beautiful last year and I was not sure what I should do for it this year to make it just as beautiful. My tulips, hostas and lily's are now blooming. Should I add fresh soil to my flower bed as well as use plant food?

|I'd add a 2-3 inch layer of compost or other organic matter to the bed now. The mulch will help suppress weeds and slow water evaporation and as it decomposes it will release nutrients into the soil. At the end of the gardening season dig the mulch into the soil and add a fresh layer. This will help enrich the soil and keep your plants happy. Enjoy your beautiful garden!
