|Manure is usually added to soil to increase the organic content. Since you'll be using potting soil to fill your containers, and potting soil is mostly organic matter, you don't really need to incorporate any manure. After you have planted your plants you can top dress with about a half inch of manure to provide nutrients to the soil. Same with roses.
