Everybody talks about putting dowm compost. If you have not made your own compost where do you get compost from? I have seen compost with another ingrediant mixed and read the information on the back. It says nothing about using it when grass is concerned. This product was at one of the HD stores.

Compost is basically decomposed organic matter so you'll see lots of bagged products in your garden center and all usually have compost on the label because most people recognize that compost is a good thing for the garden. You can use any readily available organic material from aged manure to peat moss to compost mixtures. They are all organic and all can be used for lawns. Just spread it on about a half inch thick and water it into your turf. Your local or city waste department composts tree and landscape waste and either gives or sells it in bulk. If you need a lot of organic matter, you may want to contact them. Hope this answers your question.
