I have two queen palms and just yesterday I fed them using a palm tree fertilizer purchased at Home Depot. I may have underfed; I probably used half of what was recommended based on truck diameter. The specific question I have, |
Epsom salts can be a source of magnesium, a nutrient palm trees need. It is water soluable but it doesn't last very long in the soil - it usually leaches out with the first rainstorm. But it will supply magnesium, which is a trace element often missing in your soils. Check your fertilizer package to see if it contains magnesium along with nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium. If so, you won't need to use epsom salts. If not, a diluted dose won't hurt your queen palms. |
