I have a Kwazan Cherry tree. The trunk has split wide open so I'm not sure if it is going to die or someone told me it is because it is growing so fast. Can I save my tree.

Bark splits can be caused by winter temperatures and sunscald injury, physical injury, or simply because the tree is growing faster internally than the bark can expand. There's nothing you can or should do to try to repair it. The tree will section off the wound on the inside, and bark will eventually grow over and seal up the split. Good luck with your cherry tree.
