Saucer magnolias grow about 25' high and wide. While you can prune them back, pruning removes flowering wood, which will reduce flowering the following season. If you're thinking about purchasing a saucer magnolia but you don't have the space, consider growing Little Gem Magnolia. It's a dwarf magnolia, reaching about 10' and 8' wide at maturity.
