I planted hibiscus plants in the yard but I don't know what type they are. They look small. Some of the buds fall before they open & look as though something cut them about an inch down on the stem. Could this be insects. They've only been in the ground for 2 weeks. Can you help?

Could be insects or it could be birds - or it might even be that the flowers were dropped because the hibiscus is suffering from a little transplant shock. Give your hibiscus a few more weeks to establish their roots and they should retain and open those flowers. Best wishes with your plants!
