The leaves on my tomatoe plants are turning yellow on the bottom. I am using Scotts Select Potting Mix in 22 inch pots. Any suggestions? |
The lower leaves on tomato plants naturally turn yellow and die off during the season so it's nothing to worry about. If the yellowing is on all the leaves, you are overwatering. Tomatoes like a consistent moisture level in the soil, but too much water can actually suffocate the roots. So, try watering less frequently, allowing the top half inch of soil to dry out between waterings. You should see an improvement when you water less frequently. Best wishes with your tomato plants! |
