What would be the best kind of apple tree to plant in the southwestern tip of NC, in the mountains at 3500 feet?

Their are many varieties which will do well in that location, including Gala, Fuji, Jonagold, and Golden Delicious. Your intended use (cooking or fresh eating) will determine which variety is best, as will the need for a suitable pollinator.
